Polarity/1's News Goo (The More You Watch, The Less You Know) has been a staple on Amy Goodman's Democracy Now when the subject of media consolidation is on the table. The band's repertoire casts light on a number of topical issues: Israel (The Blood), the trash media's hounding of Princess Diana to death (Di Hard), consumerism ("Look At Your Shoeshine"), tension between African Americans and Jews (Howl), the slow torture of one person's chronic unemployment caused by downsizing (Winter In America (Chills to the Bone), the Baby Boomer generation's transition from idealism to materialism (Boomer's Blues), the saga of a fictional TV preacher (Salesman). The band's composer, Levine, has collaborated with Pakistani multi-platinum rock band, Junoon, on a song about 9/11, "No More", that can be heard and downloaded. More collaboration with Junoon is in the works. The goal is to deliver a message of understanding between the Muslim world and America through the evolving creative and personal friendship between Levine, an American Jew, and Junoon's leader Salman Ahmad, a Pakistani Sufi Muslim who received his high school education in America.
